Youth Town Hall To Focus On Post-Katrina Recovery Efforts

NEW ORLEANS – On Friday, August 28, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., National Urban League President/ CEO Marc H. Morial and New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu will join leaders in education and thousands of local youth to discuss youth engagement in Post-Katrina recovery efforts at a Youth Town Hall at UNO Lakefront Arena, 6801 Franklin Ave.

         The discussion will be emceed by Q93 radio personality Wild Wayne.    Speakers will include: U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana Kenneth Polite Jr; Behrman Elementary School Principal Rene Lewis Carter; Rapper David “Dee 1” Augustine; Louisiana Superintendent of Education John White; President/CEO of the Urban League of Greater New Orleans Erika McConduit-Diggs; and Representative for the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) Kira Orange Jones.

         U.S. Congressman Cedric L. Richmond is also scheduled to attend.
