NEW ORLEANS – Younique Products will welcome an estimated 10,000 attendees to the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (MCCNO), Halls E-F, through Saturday, Aug. 5, for the fifth annual convention. The direct-sales beauty giant plans to leave its mark on New Orleans by donating handbags, accessories and cosmetics to the local chapter of Dress for Success.
The community of businesswomen will donate new or gently used handbags and work-appropriate accessories on site during the convention. Younique will join in by donating cosmetics and a matching financial donation up to $10,000 to the charity, which provides professional attire, cosmetics, jewelry and handbags to women who participate in their job-skills training.
Councilwoman Nadine M. Ramsey is expected to attend and provide remarks at the donation presentation on Saturday, Aug. 5, at 11:20 a.m.
The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) will also receive a donation of 1,000 Younique-branded boxes of chalk from The Younique Foundation to promote their Defend Innocence campaign, which helps raise awareness about childhood sexual abuse. The NORDC will ask children to draw a picture and upload the drawing on their social media channels using the hashtag #WorthDefending, which will hopefully help start the conversation of prevention and awareness of sexual assault.
This is the first Younique convention to be hosted in New Orleans and is projected to have an economic impact of more than $11.7 million.
