The YMCA has been part of Greater New Orleans since 1852. Today the Y reaches tens of thousands of lives in four parishes, including Orleans, Jefferson, St. Tammany, and Plaquemines. Their mission is “to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.”
YMCA reps said they live their not-for-profit charitable mission daily by providing life-changing programs and services that enrich people from all walks of life in the areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
