YEA! Northshore Students To Hold Investor Panel Competition

MANDEVILLE, LA – The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) Northshore program will hold an Investor Panel Competition at St. Tammany Parish Council Chambers on Monday, April 4, 2016, at 6:00 p.m.

         YEA! Northshore students will pitch their new business ideas to secure start-up funding from the investor panel to launch their own new business. The investor panel will also select a finalist to attend the Saunders Scholarship Regional Competition to be held on May 6, 2016, in Rochester, NY.

         Local business leaders participating on the panel include: Dean M. Duplantier, Architect, Broadmoore Design Group; Patrick Fitzmorris, Manager Azby Fund; Michael T. Gray, President, Gray Insurance; Lori Murphy, Editor, Inside Northside Magazine; Todd Richard, Richard Management Company; Eric Schouest, General Manager, CLECO Corporation; and John Williams, President, Zen-Noh Grain Corporation.

         YEA! is a national program that transforms select 6th -12th grade students into highly trained, confident entrepreneurs.

         Local community leader Shelby P. LaSalle, Jr. saw the value of the national model and wanted one in his own backyard. Partnering with Southeastern Louisiana University and using the Northshore Community Foundation as the conduit, in 2015 YEA! Northshore was launched and is currently serving 19 eager young minds in an effort to create, launch and grow their own small businesses.
