NEW ORLEANS – The Greater New Orleans Foundation and the City of New Orleans will present an Urban Water Series Technical Master Class focusing on integrating green infrastructure into Complete Streets.
The workshop will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 10, from 8:30 am – 1 p.m. at the Center for Philanthropy, 919 St. Charles Ave. The cost is $35 and includes breakfast, lunch and parking. The cost is $25 for CMAA, AIA, ASLA and ASCE members.
Speakers Peg Staeheli, FASLA, PLA and Lolly Kunkler, PE of planning firm MIG SvR will provide a technical overview of the integration of green stormwater infrastructure into Complete Streets and greenways and how it relates to the Greater New Orleans region.
Staeheli and Kunkler are the foremost experts on green infrastructure related to streets having led the development of the Urban Street Stormwater Guide for the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO). Staeheli has 40 years of experience in urban design and Kunkler has 17 years of experience in stormwater management.
During this workshop, data collection and infrastructure design for Complete Streets will be discussed. The speakers will also tackle lessons learned from past projects with operations and maintenance in mind. This workshop is well suited for design, planning, engineering and construction professionals. AIA, ASLA and ASCE credits can be earned.
