NEW ORLEANS – The Urban League of Louisiana's Women's Business Resource Center will host the 2nd annual "Women In Construction Convening: Balancing Growth and Operational Leadership", on Thursday, Oct. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Since the construction industry has become more competitive and dynamic, construction firms must find new ways to recruit and keep the best people on their teams.
During the daylong event, facilitated by Lakeisha Robichaux – the president & CEO of Chief of Minds, guests will learn how to develop effective human resources strategies.
Chief of Minds is an outsourced human resources (HR) and payroll management firm, providing human resources, strategy, and organizational management solutions to small and mid-size businesses. COM's professionals possess more than 35 years of human resources and management experience. Their services include: recruitment, payroll management, unemployment claims management, benefit management, performance management, employee relations, and training and development, among others.
The event features a PechaKucha-style segment, where 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each. The fast-paced format results in concise presentations, and an opportunity for several speakers to pitch their ideas.
"Women in Construction" takes place at the New Orleans Jazz Market (1436 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.), and includes breakfast and lunch. Tickets are $65.
