NEW ORLEANS – Local supermarket chain Winn-Dixie said it raised $35,234.65 during its Mardi Gras to Geaux campaign to support Ochsner Hospital for Children. During the three-week campaign, customers at all Louisiana Winn-Dixie locations were able to round up their total sale to the nearest dollar to benefit Ochsner pediatric patients and programs.
“Four years ago, Winn-Dixie and Ochsner Health decided to come together for a partnership to help young patients in our community,” said Northshore District Manager Chip Turner. “Since then, that partnership has evolved to support Ochsner patients throughout the system. It’s so rewarding for our team to give back to the community on this level, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Ochsner for years to come.”
Ochsner Hospital for Children offers personalized care for all childhood conditions. From rare brain tumors and leukemia to heart conditions and organ transplants, the hospital’s advanced facilities, 120 pediatric physicians and 30 specialties provide elite level outcomes in a caring environment created especially for children.
“The generosity of Winn-Dixie has provided incredible support for our programs and resources at Ochsner Hospital for Children throughout the years,” said Thomas Harris, Jr., the hospital’s vice president of pediatrics. “We are incredibly grateful for our ongoing partnership with Winn-Dixie which has allowed us to further our mission and provide lifesaving care to the community’s most vulnerable patients.”
