NEW ORLEANS – In recognition of their continued success in the architecture and engineering fields and for their contributions to the growth of the firm, WDG | Architects Engineers has named Shannon French, AIA, Kevin Moran, AIA and Kent Poyser, PE, Principals as of January 1, 2016.
As Principals, French, Moran and Poyser will be leading WDG’s multi-disciplinary team of architects and engineers in planning for the firm’s future. WDG says the three have been assets to their leadership team, directing design processes, managing operations and building long-term client relationships, and are trusted, active members of the architecture and engineering community and the City of New Orleans.
French, AIA, NCARB, LEED GA, Principal and Director of Design for WDG, oversees all architectural design projects in the office with a uniquely artistic and contextual approach. He works closely with WDG’s design staff, clients and contractors, and has a variety of experience working on projects including new construction, renovations, adaptive re-use, historic restorations and conceptual/site master planning. French also has a wealth of volunteer and leadership experience working with high profile civic organizations – most notably the Peace Corps, where he served multiple stints abroad performing architectural services, and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, where he has held multiple committee and leadership roles, most recently serving as the 2015 NCARB Intern Think Tank Committee Chair.
Moran, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, Principal and Studio Director for WDG, guides staff and day-to-day architectural operations, with emphasis on developing strong leaders and designers within the firm. Moran’s background includes K-12 and higher education facilities, major sports stadiums and industrial facilities of all sizes. In 2010, he won the AIA Washington, DC Chapter’s Emerging Architect Award, and in 2011 he was named Young Architect of the Year by the District of Columbia Council of Engineering & Architectural Societies.
Poyser, PE, Principal and Engineering Director for WDG, brings a hands-on approach to his direction of the Engineering Department, as his range of experience includes work in general construction and healthcare facilities prior to joining the design firm. His well-rounded background as a Mechanical Engineer makes him a resource for the WDG staff and clients alike. Among many other types of projects at WDG, Poyser has worked extensively with the City of New Orleans in post-Katrina FEMA-funded projects. As an active participant in the community, Poyser has recently volunteered with CASA Jefferson Parish.
Since 2009, WDG | Architects Engineers, a full-service architecture and engineering firm, has been providing architectural design and master planning services as well as mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering design to clients across the Gulf South region. WDG’s team of engineers and architects work either collaboratively or as independent divisions, as best suited to the needs of each individual client.
