METAIRIE, LA – Ware | Immigration announced Erin Hebert and Laura Buck have been hired as Associates in the firm’s Metairie office.
Hebert has been practicing immigration law since 2014, and has been working in the immigration field since 2010. She graduated cum laude, Order of the Barristers from the University of Washington School of Law in 2014. During law school, she interned at the Federal Public Defender's Office in Seattle, in the Chambers of the Hon. Ken Schubert at the King County Superior Court, at the VAWA Unit of the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, and was selected as a Legal Writing Fellow for UW's legal research and writing program. She was selected for the UW National Moot Court Team and the Moot Court Honor Board. She received Pro Bono Honors awards for Service and Leadership for her extensive volunteer work as a case manager and co-president for the Immigrant Families Advocacy Project. She is fluent in Spanish, having lived in both Central and South America. Hebert's practice focuses on family-based immigration with waivers of inadmissibility, removal defense, humanitarian relief, and a growing number of employment and education-based immigrant and non-immigrant visas.
Buck has practiced immigration law since 2012. Buck graduated magna cum laude from Tulane University A. B. Freeman School of Business in 2009 where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Management. She graduated cum laude in 2012 from Tulane University Law School, earning the 2012 Civil Law Award from the Louisiana State Bar Association for having the highest GPA in civil law studies. She was a member of the Tulane Law Review and served as the Associate Editor on the Law Review Board for 2011-2012. She was also a student practitioner in the immigration section of the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. Buck is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and a member of the Immigration Law Member Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association.
