NEW ORLEANS – Spurred by its success in New Orleans, the on-demand food delivery service Waitr is holding a job fair to hire an additional 100 delivery drivers in the city. The hiring event is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon, and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the New Orleans Waitr headquarters (623 Distributors Row, Suite B in Elmwood). The popular food delivery service currently employs more than 200 drivers in the city and is looking to hire additional full-time and part-time delivery drivers as it expands its New Orleans operation. “The rapid growth in the New Orleans area has brought about the need for this hiring event,” said English Nassif, Waitr city manager for New Orleans. “We are very excited to bring additional new job opportunities to the city.”
Waitr offers flexible schedules for its drivers and the average pay typically ranges from $14-$18 an hour. In addition, Waitr drivers will be guaranteed to earn $17 an hour for weekend work (Friday through Sunday) in October. Weekly pay and benefit options are available.
