NEW ORLEANS – This week, W New Orleans–French Quarter—which is part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio of more than 30 brands—unveiled a multimillion-dollar renovation to its 97 reimagined guest rooms and carriage houses. Led by Canadian design firm Chapi Chapo Design, the project flaunts sophisticated, detail-driven design inspired by the Big Easy. For example, the renovation features intricate textures and soothing tones reminiscent of the city’s bayous.
Other local touches include bold navy walls with French-style moldings, pops of Sazerac orange (the official spirit of New Orleans), Spanish moss-inspired light sconces and framed black-and-white line drawings of Jazz singers. Meanwhile, custom-made floor lamps project a backlit visual of an ornate bayou canopy onto the ceiling, and each room’s mini bar emulates a treasure chest as a nod to Jean Lafitte.
W New Orleans–French Quarter also is home to the Cajun-Creole signature dining restaurant, 3rd Block Depot; private meeting rooms; a picturesque courtyard with heated pool; and more.
