Voter Registration For Oct. 24 Election Ends Today

BATON ROUGE (AP) — Time is running out for people to sign up to vote in Louisiana's Saturday, October 24, 2015, election.

         The deadline to register as a voter is Wednesday, September 23, 2015. That's for citizens who have never registered to vote or who want to make changes to their voter registration.

         The October ballot will have more than 600 races statewide, including competitions for governor, lieutenant governor and the other statewide elected positions. Also up for consideration will be judgeships, legislative seats, city council positions and school board jobs.

         The Secretary of State's Office says people can register to vote online at www.GeauxVote.com or at the parish registrar of voters office, or when getting services at the Office of Motor Vehicles, public assistance agencies, public schools and libraries.
