NEW ORLEANS — The Vieux Carre Graffiti Abatement Program (VCGAP) is looking for volunteers to join them on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., to remove stickers and small tags from public property in multiple assigned areas throughout the French Quarter.
Volunteers will meet at the New Orleans Police Department’s 8th District station at 334 Royal Street in the French Quarter, and are asked to wear protective eyewear, long sleeves, work clothes and comfortable shoes.
Volunteers can sign up as group leaders or hands-on workers. With tools and instructions in hand, volunteers will spread out through the French Quarter and remove as many graffiti marks as possible.
Volunteers will receive a work T-shirt (while supplies last), all cleaning products and tools for the cleanup. Following the cleanup efforts, volunteers will be treated to a complimentary lunch at Bourbon Vieux at 501 Bourbon St.
The event is sponsored by VCPORA, FQBA and French Quarter Citizens.
