Verizon Donates $21,500 Grant To New Orleans Family Justice Center To Raise Awareness Of Domestic Violence

NEW ORLEANS – Verizon presented a $21,500 grant to the New Orleans Family Justice Center (NOFJC) to help the organization increase public awareness of domestic violence at an event benefitting the NOFJC on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Ursa Major, 611 O' Keefe Ave.

         A portion of the grant will be allocated for the organization’s annual Unmasking Domestic Violence Gala on Friday, October 23, from 8:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m., at Harrah’s Casino Theatre, of which Verizon is a title sponsor.

         Remaining portions of the grant will be allocated to the program’s Halloween festivities for children and Camp Power Girls, a weeklong empowerment for daughters of domestic violence survivors.

         NOFJC is a partnership of agencies dedicated to ending family violence, child abuse, sexual assault and stalking through prevention and coordinated response by providing comprehensive client-centered, empowerment services in a single location.
