NORCO, LA – Veterans Housing Outreach Ministries director Lisa Carey has collaborated with Valero Energy Corporation of Norco, LA, to begin repairs and updates on the Veterans Housing Outreach Ministries (VHOM) Hahnville Shelter Site which will house homeless, disabled, senior and female veterans in need.
VHOM has housing sites in Marrero, New Orleans, Hahnville and Luling.
Carey said her organization helps veterans access health benefits and provide job and entrepreneurship training that will lead to gainful employment and self -sufficiency.
"The goal is the to help as many veterans as possible to become whole," says Carey.
VHOM and Valero Energy Corporation will begin work on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at 116 and 118 Byrd Ln., in Hahnville, from 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
VHOM and Valero are seeking volunteers to assist with the repairs and updates.
