NEW ORLEANS – The Urban League of Louisiana is offering a Start-up Institute for aspiring and early stage entrepreneurs starting on Monday, July 31.
The Start-Up Institute is a month-long small business training program designed to equip aspiring and early stage entrepreneurs with the knowledge, tools and resources to start and grow a business. Series modules are facilitated by professional consultants and small business service providers on the following topics:
• Business Financials
• Marketing
• Operations and Processes
• Leadership
• Hiring
• Legal Issues
• Business Insurance
• Finding Funding
Classes are facilitated by professional consultants and small business service providers, and are held from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on the following dates:
• Monday, July 31: 50 First Steps to Starting a Business
• Monday, Aug. 7: Strategic Business Planning
• Wednesday, Aug. 9: Marketing for Growth
• Monday, Aug. 14: Understanding Business Financials
• Wednesday, Aug. 16: Developing Your Operations and Processes
• Monday, Aug. 21: Hiring for Growth; Legal Readiness
• Monday, Aug. 28: Principles of Leadership for Entrepreneurs
• Wednesday, Aug. 30: Insurance 101; Finding the Money
Registration is non-refundable, however, missed classes may be attended during another series that immediately follows the one attended.
