Urban Conservancy to Honor Three Urban Heroes

169279635698959544NEW ORLEANS — The Urban Conservancy has announced its 2023 Urban Heroes honorees, three individuals who have contributed to a “vibrant and resilient New Orleans.”

“We’ve been honoring our Urban Heroes since 2011. They are people who lead with their hearts and inspire others to do the same,” said Dana Eness, Urban Conservancy’s executive director, in a press release. “Our honorees this year are revolutionizing environmental stewardship in groundbreaking ways that intersect with the Urban Conservancy’s core values of action, equity and sustainability. We are thrilled to celebrate these passionate New Orleanians and elevate their important work through this event.”

The honorees will be recognized at a luncheon Friday, Oct. 6, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Walnut Room of the Lakefront Airport. 

Doors open at 11:30 for a reception and cash bar, and lunch will be served at noon. Lunch will be followed by a discussion among the honorees, moderated by Dr. Aimée Thomas, director of Loyola University’s Environment Program, and awards presentation.

The ticketed event is open to the public, but seating is limited. Sponsorship support is provided by LCI Workers’ Comp; Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson, L.L.P.; and Quality Sitework Materials (QSM). New Orleans Public Radio affiliate WWNO is the media sponsor.
