UNO, Latter & Blum To Present Annual Economic Outlook And Real Estate Forecast Seminar

NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans and Latter & Blum, Inc. will present the 28th Dr. Ivan Miestchovich Economic Outlook & Real Estate Forecast Seminar on Friday, May 5, on the UNO campus, in the Sen. Ted Hickey Ballroom of the University Center, from 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

         This annual seminar brings together people from a wide cross-section of the region’s business, professional and civic communities, organizers said.

         Registration and networking begin at 8:00 a.m., followed by opening remarks from UNO President John Nicklow and John Williams, dean of the UNO College of Business Administration. The seminar will be moderated by Robert Penick, interim director of the Institute for Economic Development and Real Estate Research.

         The opening panel will discuss redevelopment and revitalization projects in the CBD, Mid-City and Tulane Avenue Corridor, as well as the adaptive reuse of office buildings and other properties into hotels and how these projects are affecting the city now and into the future. Cullen Maumas of the New Orleans Redevelopment Fund and Chris Ross of NAI/Latter & Blum and Kurt Weigle of the Downtown Development District of New Orleans are the featured panelists.

         The next two panels will address the trends and outlooks for the real estate market. The Commercial Real Estate panel includes Stephanie Hilferty of SRSA Commercial Real Estate and Cres Gardner of Beau Box of New Orleans, while the Residential Real Estate panel is comprised of Larry Schedler of Larry G. Schedler & Associates and Richard Haase of Latter & Blum, Inc.

         The cost to attend the seminar is $50 if registered by May 1, and $65 at the door.
