NEW ORLEANS (AP) — University Medical Center New Orleans says its first year in operation included more than 237,000 visits by patients and employment of more than 2,240 full-time staffer members.
A news release Tuesday says its staff dealt with 155,835 clinic visits, 81,330 emergency visits, and 11,736 admissions over the first 365 days.
The 446-bed hospital opened Aug. 1, 2015, with the transfer of 131 patients from its predecessor, Interim LSU Hospital.
Hospital officials say that the staff has worked with 5,000 residents, medical students and trainees.
