HARVEY, LA – “A Night in Rio,” a fundraiser benefiting the Cancer Center at West Jefferson Medical Center, will host featured guest and cancer survivor Shannon Miller, the most decorated U.S. Olympic gymnast in American history.
The Brazilian-themed Carnival for a Cause will take place Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Boomtown Casino & Hotel New Orleans, 4132 Peters Rd., 2nd Floor, in Harvey.
Miller is a champion and strong advocate for cancer awareness and early detection, and she will help the West Jefferson Hospital Foundation honor its most generous cancer-fighting champions, organizers said.
A Patron Party starts at 6:00 p.m. with a meet and greet with Miller. At 7:00 p.m., the Gala kicks off along with a Silent Auction until 10:00 p.m.
There will be fine foods from great chefs, a silent auction, live music (including Brazilian samba entertainment), an open bar, unique specialty drinks and the chance for a photo with special guest Olympic Champion Miller, organizers said.
Proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships will benefit patients at the Cancer Center at West Jefferson Medical Center, which has the only radiation therapy available on the Westbank. The WJ Hospital Foundation, along with its sponsors, is very proud to provide this event to the community, organizers said.
Single Tickets are $75 and $125 for Event & Patron Party Tickets.
Table sales and sponsorships are also available.
