NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A professor and official at the University of Michigan School of Public Health is coming to Louisiana as dean of the LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans School Of Public Health.
The chancellor of LSU Health New Orleans, Dr. Larry Hollier, says Dean G. Smith, Ph.D.’s appointment will be effective June 1. He says that Smith will work through the spring with Interim Dean Richard Culbertson.
Smith is Michigan's director of executive education and lifelong learning and a professor in the department of health management and policy. He has a doctorate in economics and joined the faculty at Michigan to teach health care finance.
