NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Tulane University's Cowen Institute will receive $1.6 million over three years to fund community collaborative initiatives that improve education and help employ youth.
The New Orleans Advocate reports the work will provide financial and technical support to the EMPLOY collaborative, a group of 20 organizations in New Orleans that will coordinate education, training and job placement services to help young people get careers in high-growth industries.
The Cowen Institute will serve as the backbone, working with the Youth Empowerment Project, Delgado's Accelerated Career Education program and the Tulane Earn and Learn Career Pathways Program.
Both high school graduates and others are eligible for assistance.
