Tulane Medical Center Unveils New Surgical Care Unit

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Medical Center unveiled a new Surgical Care Unit at a ceremonial ribbon cutting and dedication on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. The newly renovated 26-bed unit has spacious private rooms with the latest in telemetry and monitoring equipment. Tulane Health System CEO, Dr. William Lunn addressed attendees along with Tulane University School of Medicine Urology Chairman, Dr. Raju Thomas before the dedication prayer and ribbon cutting.

         “Our patients are relying on our innovation and discovery,” said CEO, Dr. William Lunn. “We are about caring for people and defining how medicine is practiced. This new unit will provide a high quality healing environment for our surgical patients as we continue to define medicine,” said Lunn.

         The Surgical Care Unit officially opened its doors to general surgery patients on Wednesday, May 27.

         Tulane Medical Center is part of Tulane Health System, an acclaimed teaching, research and medical system serving the greater New Orleans area. Tulane has more than 500 credentialed physicians who provide care ranging from primary to tertiary to quaternary.
