NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Health System announced all pediatric services will be relocating from Tulane Medical Center to Tulane Lakeside Hospital for Women and Children on Tuesday, December 16. The move will bring together all of Tulane’s women’s and children’s services to one location, making it the only truly specialized women’s and children’s healthcare facility in Jefferson Parish and the greater New Orleans area.
“Our pediatric move marks a new beginning for Tulane Lakeside Hospital for Women and Children,” said Dr. William Lunn, CEO of Tulane Health System.
He said Lakeside has a long and distinguished history of offering exceptional women’s healthcare services in Jefferson Parish. “We are proud to offer a wider breadth of services for children at our convenient location in Metairie; much closer to the homes and schools of many of our patients,” Lunn said.
In addition to offering a full continuum of 24 pediatric specialties, Tulane Lakeside is equipped with a 7-bed pediatric intensive care unit, a 26-bed pediatric inpatient unit, a 6-bed specialty care/ oncology unit, a 26-bed neonatal intensive care unit, a full service pediatric emergency room and a
full service child life program.
The dedicated pediatric emergency room will be staffed with board certified pediatric ER physicians with ER wait times available at TulaneLakeside.com. The facility has recently added a child-friendly low-dose CT scanner, MRI, pediatric endoscopy, a pediatric pulmonary lab and neurodiagnostics. Tulane’s pediatric outpatient clinics will also be moving to the Lakeside campus in Metairie on December 16.
