The Westbank Business & Industry Association Announces the 2019 Legacy Award Recipient

 

HARVEY, La. – The Westbank Business & Industry Association (WBIA) named business leader, Stanton Salathe, as the prestigious 2019 Legacy Award recipient. Details were shared in a press release.

Salathe is a lifelong resident of the Westbank and a past chairman of the HCIA/WBIA. He is a United States Air Force veteran, well-known and respected for his business acumen and community engagement across the areas of economic development, education and healthcare.

Salathe is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and a longtime resident of Harvey, Louisiana. His family, via Salathe Oil Company, and Salathe Gas Company (Blue Rhino) has participated in the important work of the Westbank Business and Industry Association (formerly called Harvey Canal Industrial Association) since the organization’s inception.  

Salathe continues to serve in leadership positions on many boards, including the West Jefferson Hospital Foundation, the Louisiana Community and Technical College System, Chateau De Notre Dame and Wynhoven Healthcare, Legatus, Fore Kids Foundation and Fifth District Savings Bank.

He is also a former member of the Jefferson Business Council, the Catholic Foundation of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, the Jefferson Chamber, Café Hope, Jefferson Economic Development Commission (JEDCO), Shell Marketers, Louisiana Oil Marketers, the University of Southern Mississippi Small Business Council, West Jefferson Medical Center, and the Chamber of Commerce of New Orleans and the River Region.

Salathe and his wife Judy have three sons and are active in St. Cletus Catholic Church community and the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

The Legacy Committee of WBIA consists of past-presidents and is chaired by Jennifer Steel-Bourgeois. The honoree is selected for lifetime achievement and distinguished service to the organization and community.

In addition to the 2019 Legacy Award, we will honor six Invest West Champions at the annual WBIA Celebration & Installation on May 9th, says Charlie Frederick outgoing WBIA President. This year’s honorees include Daul Insurance, Fifth District Savings Bank, Retif Oil & Fuel, Print-ALL, A-1 Appliance and Electronics, and Superior Honda.
