NEW ORLEANS – The Ruby Slipper Café invites runners of all ages to participate in its first 5K and ½ mile youth run at its flagship location in Mid-City at 315 S. Broad St.
The race will be held on Sunday, Feb. 25, from 8-10 a.m. along with post-race festivities. Race registration can be completed online via Race Roster or on site the day of the race. T-shirts will be available to runners who register ahead of time.
Race costs is $30 by Feb. 10 and goes up until the day of the race for ages 18-64.
Race proceeds will benefit Communities in Schools of Greater New Orleans, a nonprofit with a mission to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. The race will also boast a “Best Ruby Slipper Running Show Award” for race participants.
The Ruby Slipper Café will provide food, with refreshments provided by both Second Line Brewing and Natalie’s Orchard Island Juice Company. For more information visit the Facebook event page.
