NEW ORLEANS – Honoring the influence and legendary artistry of the incomparable Prince Rogers Nelson, The Jazz Playhouse inside the Royal Sonesta, 300 Bourbon St., will host “A Tribute to Prince: Presented by Glen David Andrews,” Friday, April 21.
Doors will open at 8:00 p.m. with no cover charge, though reserved and preferred seating is available.
Expect fireworks, as Andrews and his band take the audience on a musical journey through all eras of Prince’s illustrious career. The Glen David Andrews Band will be joined by guitarist Dan Cardillo, one of the foremost Prince tribute guitarists in the business, and the Hyperphlyy cousins of Poplarville, Mississippi. Assisting with musical direction and choreography will be Barney Kilpatrick, who worked closely with Prince during his tenure at Warner-Bros Records.
For this special concert, the Jazz Playhouse’s mixology team will pay homage to the late artist with a special cocktail named after one of his biggest hits, The Raspberry Beret. The drink is a sweet refreshing concoction of muddled blackberry, mint, lime and blended with St. Remy VSOP brandy, Playhouse reps said.
