The Love Yourself Walk/Run/Tour To Raise Awareness Of Depression Issues In The New Orleans Community With Upcoming Event

NEW ORLEANS — Local author, entrepreneur, and community leader Eunice Love, founder of L.Y.S. Love Campaign (the Love Yourself Campaign) is hosting the LOVE YOURSELF Walk/Run/Tour on Saturday, August 11 at the new Reunion Shelter in New Orleans' City Park. The event begins at 9:00 a.m.

Depression and low self-esteem affect millions worldwide; New Orleanians, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, can relate and have experienced this mental illness.

Eunice Love believes the best time to give back to our city is during the month of August. This August, we commemorate the 13th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Often difficult to detect, depression can lead to stress in the workplace, household, school, and in personal relationships. Depression can also cause dependency issues, substance abuse, and other self-destructive behaviors including suicide.

The goal of the walk/run is to generate awareness and raise funds in the near future for organizations who offer helpful resources in the mental health departments.

Fitness expert Mack Terrance (owner of King Mack Fitness & The Motivation Team) will lead the walk/run.
