The Keller Williams Culture

From the subtle complexities of the Multiple Listing Service to the dense legalese of contracts, Jacque Post loves everything about her job. She’s the agent services coordinator for Keller Williams Realty New Orleans.

With her 14 years experience as a licensed agent, along with a law degree, Post successfully guides young agents through contracts and closings. For the more established agents, she keeps them updated on new technologies and modern modes of communications.

“Hands down what I like best about my job is the personalized coaching we offer our agents,” she says. “And what we do to support our agents prepares them to do their best for their clients.”

The Austin, Texas-based Keller Williams was founded in 1983 by Gary Keller and Joe Williams with the mission “to build careers worth having, businesses worth owning and lives worth living for its associates.” In 2018, Training Magazine, a professional development magazine that advocates training and workforce development as a business tool, inducted Keller Williams into its hall of fame of top training organizations.

Keller Williams’ premise is simple: if the company focuses its resources on building its agents’ businesses, the agents in turn will build the company. The company has more than 181,000 associates and more than 950 market centers from New Orleans to Vietnam. Each Keller Williams market center is independently owned and operated. Jeffrey Doussan is the franchise owner of Post’s office, which has 140 agents.

Post boasts about her market center’s five different websites, its many technological tools and the fact that each client can access their own portal where they can ask questions about everything from FHA financing to inspections.

But what she really appreciates about her job is its family environment with such things as frequent barbeques, community service projects and charitable endeavors.

“I love this job because of the culture,” says Post. “Our agents care deeply about each other and are committed to having a positive impact on the community. KW Cares, a charity that supports our associates and their families in times of need, is a big reason I wanted to work here. It’s truly the heart of the Keller Williams culture.”
