NEW ORLEANS — The Eliza Jane hotel (315 Magazine Street) has won a 2024 MUSE Hotel Award in the historical boutique hotel category. The 196-room hotel, part of the Hyatt portfolio, occupies four former warehouses that previously held a gunpowder company, a bitters distillery and a printing facility for the city’s former daily newspaper.
Designed by New York firm Stonehill Taylor, the hotel’s interior combines much of the buildings’ original brick, masonry arches and metalwork with leather, marble accents and foliage. The restaurant is home to Couvant restaurant, and the Press Room, a lounge and craft cocktail bar.
