NEW ORLEANS – The Barre Code, a Chicago-based fitness franchise, is extending its mantra to the Crescent City with a brand-new studio at 787 Harrison Ave. (at Memphis Street).
The Grand Opening Celebration of the studio will take place Saturday, February 13, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. commencing with a Ribbon Cutting, thanks to the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce, followed by complimentary classes at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. available on a first come, first served basis.
At the event guests will enjoy bubbles and fresh treats from local brands such as NOLA Bean as well as pop-up shops from Lucy Rose, About Face and Athleta. Attendees will also have the chance to register to win free giveaways from participating brands.
Situated just a few blocks West of Edwards Hynes Charter School in the Lakeview neighborhood, reps with The Barre Code said they will bring the area a one-stop shop of cardiovascular conditioning, strength training and restoration. With this program, they said women can expect to be challenged beyond the physical workout through a powerful formula of empowerment and positivity that builds strength from the inside out.
“We’re so excited to introduce this fitness lifestyle to New Orleans,” says Kelley Ellis, co-owner of The Barre Code NOLA. “This venture has been a thrilling process! Living by The Barre Code has changed our lives and we are very happy to share this with others in our community.”
Local owners Kelley Ellie and Marissa Brown scouted the location and directed the build-out of the space containing a studio, retail area and two changing rooms complete with a fully stocked vanity area.
They said the remaining interior details throughout the studio were kept simple and clean, inviting clients into an atmosphere of inspiration and motivation.
With a studio room that accommodates up to 22 clients per class, The Barre Code encourages women to discover what they are capable of, transforming clients into their strongest and fittest selves. Renowned for its innovative exercises that are anything but routine, the owners said their brand brings an ever-evolving class curriculum to the New Orleans location.
Trained alongside The Barre Code’s seasoned corporate team, the New Orleans instructors will offer rotating class formats and empowering motivational skills to ensure participants will never plank into a plateau.
Studio reps said core classes cover all of the body’s needs, from the original “Barre Code,” a fifty-minute, total-body workout of isometric holds, heavy repetition, and deep stretching; to “Brawl,” a combination of kickboxing and strengthening moves that “SELF Magazine” has dubbed one of the best workouts in the nation.
Participants will be challenged to reach beyond their physical, mental and emotional limits on a three-dimensional ride of plyometrics, speedwork and agility training during the coveted “HIIT” class or focus on full-range-of-motion strength training with our bootcamp-style routine, “TBC.”
