What We Do
The mission of The Alternative Board New Orleans Northwest is to help local business owners be successful and achieve both their personal and business vision.
“We often hear that it can feel lonely being a business owner, particularly when you are juggling competing priorities of issues that might not be your area of expertise, potentially clouding the big picture of what you want to achieve,” says den Hartigh. TAB helps create clarity and identify solutions by bringing together small groups of business owners in monthly peer advisory boards, which helps them help one another by sharing experiences and knowledge. These meetings also allow owners to step back and take a more strategic view of their businesses.
“Over time, these boards typically develop themselves into a group of trusted advisors for each other and their businesses,” says den Hartigh. In addition to the board activities, TAB provides monthly executive coaching for all members and develops a tailored strategic plan for each business while acting as a coach and accountability partner during its implementation.
TAB New Orleans Northwest invites all interested business owners to join a demonstrator board meeting, where they can experience firsthand the value these meetings bring for participants. An additional complimentary coaching session will be offered for participants.

As Owner and Facilitator of TAB New Orleans Northwest, Ernst den Hartigh looks to substantially grow the membership of the group and become one of the backbones of a thriving local business community on the Northshore. A Northshore resident since 1998, den Hartigh has spent most of his career working as an executive in the oil and gas industry in Louisiana and around the world. His passion for coaching and helping businesses led him to start this local chapter of The Alternative Board and contribute to the growing economy of the Northshore and Greater New Orleans.
