THIBODAUX, LA (AP) — Terrebonne General Medical Center has declared its campus to be a smoke-free facility.
In previous months, the medical center had declared designated smoking areas in a step toward going smoke-free.
Chief Operating Officer Diane Yeates tells The Courier’s Kate Mabry the policy was developed by a steering committee made up of hospital staffers from various departments as well as administrators. Smokers and non-smokers were included.
The policy bans the use of cigarettes, e-cigarettes, chewing tobacco and vapor products.
