NEW ORLEANS — The Southern Food and Beverage Museum (SoFab) announced its new weekly lunch demonstrations, each Monday and open to the public, with special appeal to visitors to the area who are interested in New Orleans' distinctive culinary culture.
Classes will begin on Monday, June 29, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., at 1830 Martin Luther King Blvd.
Offered in the state-of-the-art Rouses Culinary Innovation Center by Jenn-Air, these demonstrations are an in-depth look into how to create delicious traditional dishes that are then served to participants for lunch. SoFAB will teach guests how to take the secrets of New Orleans' flavors home to their kitchens.
The $40 standard menu will include:
• Fresh Tomato Salad with Creole Remoulade Sauce
• Creole Jambalaya with Chicken, Sausage and Vine-Ripened Tomatoes
• Bananas Foster Flambé with Vanilla Ice Cream
• New Orleans French bread with butter
• Iced Tea
• Coffee
Classes are available for private group reservations with additional add-ons or specialty menus upon request. Celebrity chefs are also available to conduct demonstrations. A list of available chefs can be provided by SoFAB upon request. Special dietary needs can be accommodated with 48 hours notice.
Admission to the museum, along with the Museum of the American Cocktail, is included in the demonstration price. There is a discounted price for SoFAB Members.
