Tabitha Grimes Wins Toastmasters Award

TabithaNEW ORLEANS —Tabitha Grimes was named “Toastmasters District 68 District Executive Committee Member of the Year” for the 2019-2020 term. The award was presented by Immediate Past District Director and Distinguished Toastmaster Joel Dawson. This award is given to one committee member each year who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and devoted service in a district supporting role. Grimes served as the district’s administration manager for last term and graciously agreed to a reappointment for the 2020-2021 Toastmasters year. As the administration manager, she is responsible for maintaining the historical records of the district, recording and distributing meeting minutes, and otherwise maintaining accurate, timely records of district business.

Grimes, an administrative assistant at Chevron, joined Toastmasters in 2013 to enhance her presentation skills while speaking during meetings. She has served the district previously as an area director and as a division director and has also served her club in multiple leadership roles.

“I am overjoyed by the ‘DEC Member of the Year’ recognition I received,” she said. “Each Toastmasters year, I continue to learn and grow and build lasting relationships.”
