MANDEVILLE, LA – The St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation (STEDF) and Chevron will present an examination of workforce development in energy, oil and gas on Tuesday, September 22, 2015.
Brenda Bertus, CEO of STEDF, said, “Strategic workforce development will determine whether we can support the prospective needs of business and industry in the coming years. These conversations help us identify those needs now, when we have the opportunity to plan for the future.”
The Tuesday, September 22, installment of the STEDF Workforce Development Series will focus on high demand jobs in the fields of energy, oil and gas; expected skilled trade areas of focus; and workforce challenges, opportunities, strengths and needs.
Ashley Cangelosi Llewellyn, programs manager for STEDF, said, “The conversations generated in our Workforce Development Series direct area business leaders on how best to prepare for expected trends in local industries. Together, we can anticipate the industry landscape and collaborate with our education partners to establish training programs for our future workforce.”
As the event sponsor, Chevron will provide a general overview of its operations in Covington.

The purpose of the STEDF Workforce Development Series is to share relevant workforce development information regarding St. Tammany, the Greater New Orleans region and the state of Louisiana with business leaders, community representatives and economic development partners in the area.
Area business leaders interested in or involved with workforce development in St. Tammany are invited to attend.
All events will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the STEDF conference room.
