St. Tammany Clerk Henry Elected To State Board

COVINGTON, LA – St. Tammany Parish Clerk of Court Melissa Henry has been named secretary of the Louisiana Clerks Remote Access Authority (LCRAA).

Henry, who took office July 1, will serve on the seven-member Board of Directors of the Authority, which is tasked with implementing a statewide network of Clerks of Court databases for ease of researching land records. In 2017, the organization hopes to add additional record search access. Forty-five parishes are currently participating in the program, which was created by the Legislature at the request of the Clerks of Court Association in 2014.

"Creating statewide access to these vital records has been a time-saving measure for abstractors and others who need to review land records in multiple parishes," Henry said. "Adding additional records such as marriage licenses and other information will further enhance our ability to serve the public. I'm excited to be part of this ongoing project and am happy to be in a leadership position on the LCRAA Board."
