NEW ORLEANS – For the past six years, St. Charles Avenue’s April issue has featured The Courts of Carnival: a pictorial of the Royal Courts of select Carnival krewes of New Orleans (those founded prior to 1950). Over the years, this special section has become so popular that the 2019 Courts of Carnival will be printed as a special collectible, stand alone magazine of St. Charles Avenue.
“New Orleans’ Mardi Gras is known all over the world for its magnificence,” says Beverly Reese Church, executive editor of St. Charles Avenue magazine, “and this new, stand-alone Courts of Carnival Issue will be a collectible that New Orleanians will keep year after year! We are proud of St. Charles Avenue's coverage of the most historic Carnival organizations presenting their history, kings, queens, courts and their invitations in this prestigious new publication.”
Arranged in reverse chronological order from Mardi Gras to Twelfth Night, this pictorial history of Carnival 2019 will contain 68 colorful pages including each krewe’s ball theme, a replica of the invitation and photos of their Royal Court. The special edition will be mailed exclusively to St. Charles Avenue magazine subscribers as a keepsake from Carnival 2019. For more information or to receive a copy, visit SaintCharlesAvenue.com.
