St. Bernard Parish Resident Receives Institutional Leadership Award from the International Economic Development Council

NEW ORLEANS — This morning, St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation (SBEDF) announced that Rita Gue, president of the Arlene & Joseph Meraux Foundation, received the 2019 Institutional Leadership Award from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC.)

According to a press release from St. Bernard’s foundation, IEDC’s Excellence in Economic Development Awards program recognizes the world’s best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials, and the year’s most influential leaders.

Gue accepted the award at the IEDC’s Annual Conference in Indianapolis on Monday, Oct.14. The award brings international attention to the on-going economic development efforts of St. Bernard Parish. As one of the most prestigious honors given in the field of Economic Development, the recognition signals to professionals within the industry that St. Bernard is a leader in a collaboration-based approach to business attraction and retention.
