METAIRIE, LA – SRSA Director of Property Management Mike Hilferty is celebrating 15 years at the a full-service commercial real estate company serving the Gulf South, and SRSA’s Graphic Design and Marketing Executive Rebecca Pons is celebrating 5 years.
SRSA reps said Hilferty is an expert in his field with 25 years of combined commercial real estate management and commercial leasing experience. Currently, he supervises a property management/ engineering staff of 30 employees and is responsible for new business development. In addition, Hilferty coordinates all activities of the property management portfolio: tenant services, capital improvements, vendor selection and report generation to ownership.
Prior to joining SRSA in 2001, Hilferty was property manager and leasing agent for global real estate broker, Cushman & Wakefield. His primary focus was the management of Medical Office Buildings (MOBs) and he regularly communicated with hospital CEOs, CFOs and physicians. During his three-year tenure, he managed and leased ten MOBs on three different hospital campuses and successfully negotiated the full execution of 70 leases.
Hilferty's wide range of property management experience includes positions with some of the Gulf South's most well-known and respected companies, including Corporate Realty (Property Manager), John Kushner & Associates (Property Manager), the Metairie Galleria (Property Manager), and Joseph C. Canizaro (Property Manager). He has managed properties in New Orleans, Metairie, the West Bank, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Florida, Oklahoma and Texas.
In 2009, Hilferty was voted Property Manager of the Year by IREM chapter 55. He received the Certified Property Manager designation (CPM) from the Institute of Property Management in 1991, and was recently awarded the Real Property Administrator award (RPA) by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). He is a member of BOMA and the New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors (NOMAR). Additional achievements include the continuing management of the Touro Medical Office Building (17 years), and most recently, the property management takeover of the East Jefferson General Hospital, 250,000 square foot portfolio.
Hilferty received his Masters in Business Administration from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Loyola University. He is a licensed real estate agent in Louisiana.
Pons joined SRSA Commercial Real Estate in February 2011.
SRSA reps said she joined SRSA to create a new look, vision and future for the company. Pons creates marketing collateral such as tour packages, market aerials and maps, property flyers, ads, eblasts, press releases, generates demographic reports, traffic counts, manages social media and the website. Pons also designed and maintains the SRSA company website as well as some of the property websites.
Pons graduated top of her class from Loyola University with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design/Visual Communications in 2003, and she has over 15 years experience in the graphic design/ marketing field.
Pior to joining SRSA, Pons gained valuable experience creating and maintaining the design, advertising, branding, website and marketing for companies including, West Jefferson Hospital, Henderson Auctions, The Livingston Parish News, The Antiques Gazette, The Livingston Parish Business Report, Synergy Design group, RCI Internet Services and Reagan Equipment Co.
Pons is also president of a Graphic Design business and a member of AIGA (the professional association for design).
