METAIRIE, LA – Sandra Corrigan and Stephanie Boyd from SRSA Commercial Real Estate, Inc. represented the buyer H. W. Kaufman Financial Group in selling the Cox Communications 125,000 SF building in Metairie, LA.
Kaufman purchased the property to house the local offices of Burns & Willcox, a subsidiary that sells wholesale specialty insurance.
Burns & Wilcox has 47 locations across the United States with 1 office in Metairie at Two Lakeway Center on North Causeway Boulevard in Metairie. Burns and Wilcox needed a larger space, and SRSA reps said they had the opportunity to help provide them with a space big enough for them to grow in the New Orleans market.
The company will occupy 20,000 square feet on the top floor at 2121 Airline Dr., which will be rebranded as the Burns & Wilcox Center.
Cox Communications, owner‑occupant of the building for more than a decade, will continue to occupy three floors.
The rest of the building is currently for lease by SRSA Commercial Real Estate at 44,370 SF, the largest contiguous block of space in Metairie, LA.
SRSA Director of Leasing Sandra Corrigan said, "This building has not been available to the market for over 10 years and we are excited for the opportunity."
