NEW ORLEANS – Spears Group President & CEO Cleveland Spears III was invited to the White House to attend an official briefing on President Obama's Economic Agenda and the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement.
Spears III was one of 45 prominent business executives from across the country selected to attend the briefing, which was hosted by Senior White House officials.
The briefing to discuss the White House Trade Agenda, and specifically the free-trade agreement TPP, is currently being negotiated among 12 countries including the U.S., Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Brunei, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, Chile and Peru. Spears III said the pact aims to deepen economic ties between these nations, slashing tariffs and fostering trade to boost growth while Member countries also hope to foster a closer relationship on economic policies and regulation.
