NEW ORLEANS – To help with fostering, low cost vet care, spay/ neuter and adoption programs, SpayMart is holding a Paws Cause benefit on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at the Homer L. Hitt Alumni Center on UNO's campus, 2000 Lakeshore Dr., New Orleans, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
SpayMart reps said their all-volunteer, non-profit organization found responsible, loving pet owners for more than 450 orphaned kittens and cats last year.
"We are very excited about this year's event, as we will have an even larger venue than in past years,” said Lauree Nunez, SpayMart co-coordinator. “Our last two Paws Cause benefits have been big successes drawing crowds of supporters, and raising both funds and awareness."
"As a lifelong cat-lover, we are dedicated to defending the defenseless,” Nunez said. “Kitten populations continue to grow in our region, and our volunteers work diligently to find as many forever homes for the homeless as possible. Paws Cause is always a fun event, and it's great to have so many animal lovers show their support for our work. Every penny raised goes to the hundreds of successful adoptions we coordinate each year."
Advanced tickets cost $25 and include an evening of music, food, prizes, a silent auction, raffles and a cash bar .
Tickets are available at DL Creations, 3205 Georgia Ave., Kenner; Spaymart Thrift and Gift, 6601 Veterans Blvd., Metairie; or online
