Southeast Super Region Committee's Gubernatorial Forum, Friday

NEW ORLEANS – The Southeast Super Region Committee (SRC) will host a gubernatorial forum featuring 2015 gubernatorial candidates Scott Angelle, member of the LA Public Service Commission and former Lt. Governor of Louisiana, John Bel Edwards, Minority Leader of the Louisiana House of Representatives, Jay Dardenne, Lt. Governor, and David Vitter, Louisiana Senator, on Friday, September 4, 2015, at the Peoples Health New Orleans Jazz Market, 1436 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.

         The content of the program will be led by GNO, Inc. Board Chair Bill Hoffman, BRAC Board Chair Van Mayhall, Jr. and SLEC Board Chair Scott Melancon.

         John Spain, Executive VP of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation and Chairman of the Southeast Super Region Committee will serve as moderator.

         “This forum will be an important opportunity to highlight each candidate’s plan for economic growth and development in Louisiana,” Spain said. “We know that the super region is a critical piece of the economic fabric in our state and want to bring our work to the forefront of the gubernatorial election.”

         The 2:00 p.m. event will be open to more than 300 members of the Super Region business community and major media outlets. A networking reception for all participants will immediately follow the forum.

         With more than two and a half million people, industry that supplies the world, and internationally celebrated culture, the Southeast Super Region represents more than 50% of Louisiana’s population, workforce, corporate firms, sales tax revenue, and legislators with a mission to foster cooperation for mutual economic benefit between the Baton Rouge, Greater New Orleans and Bayou regions – which together form the “Southeast Super Region.”

         The Southeast Super Region Committee is a collaboration of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, Greater New Orleans, Inc., and the South Louisiana Economic Council.

         The SRC’s Friday forum will address business and economic issues of particular relevance to the growth and success of the Southeast Super Region.
