NEW ORLEANS – Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS) is looking for registered nurses and licensed practical nurses for rewarding opportunities to serve our nation’s heroes.
A hiring event for these nurses is being held Saturday, April 8, at the new Veterans medical center in New Orleans, 2400 Canal St., from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Free parking will be available in the garage at the corner of Galvez Street and Tulane Avenue.
“Providing our Veterans with access to high quality health care is our top priority and we want the best and the brightest to help us in this mission,” said SLVHCS Medical Center Director Fernando O. Rivera, FACHE.
Throughout the event, SLVHCS Human Resources and Nursing staff will be available for interviews and making tentative job offers to top candidates. Staff will also share information about current and upcoming vacancies within the health care system and how to apply for positions.
SLVHCS is a patient-centered organization focused on serving Veterans first and foremost, reps said. With community based outpatient clinics in Baton Rouge, Bogalusa, Franklin, Hammond, Houma, Slidell and St. John Parish, as well as a new Veterans medical center in New Orleans, the staff delivered more than 550,000 outpatient appointments to over 43,000 Veterans last fiscal year and will continue to grow as it activates more services in the new Veterans medical center and expands services at the clinics.
