NEW ORLEANS – Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS) recognized veterans experience officer Robert Manness as the Patriot of the Month in August 2017 “for his contribution, dedication and service in putting Veterans first and caring for America’s heroes.”
“It is an honor to be recognized by my peers,” said Manness. “This award is something I share with my entire team.”
Manness oversees customer service for SLVHCS and leads a team of 12 who ensure the needs of Veterans are being satisfied. He and his team promote the idea of excellent customer service throughout the health care system and focus on making recommendations to best resolve Veterans’ issues.
“Myself and my team strive to provide Veterans with the care they earned and deserve, modeling courtesy, dignity and respect,” Manness said.
Manness served as a hospital corpsman during a 20-year career in the U.S. Navy. He supports various disaster relief organizations, charitable efforts such as Toys for Tots, and Labrador Retriever rescues.
In his free time, Manness appreciates the wide variety of New Orleans restaurants and local festivals, reps said. He especially enjoys watching and supporting LSU football. He has worked at SLVHCS for more than seven years.
