Sizeler Thompson Brown Architects Appoints New Design Professional

NEW ORLEANS – Sizeler Thompson Brown Architects (STBA) announced in a press release the recent hire of Adam Edward Shields. Shields will work within the STBA award-winning Healthcare Design studio as a Design Professional. Within this role, he will assist with design, construction documents, and construction administration.

Originally from Austin, Texas, Shields found his way to New Orleans almost eight years ago after accepting a scholarship at Tulane University, where he earned his Bachelors and Masters of Architecture degrees in 2016. Having spent the last 2 years working at Blitch Knevel Architects and splitting time between New Orleans and Covington, he is excited to work downtown in the middle of New Orleans’ ever-evolving Warehouse District. Shields is enticed by the city’s unique take on historic preservation and how that process occurs alongside – and often incorporates itself into – modernizing the city.

Shields' interest in architecture comes from a respect for buildings as long-standing works of art that tell stories of their inhabitants and the context of their surroundings. He is fascinated by both the end product of the design as well as the process that puts the pieces into place. As a member of the STBA Healthcare Design Studio, Shields is excited for his foray into the world of healthcare design and looks forward to learning more about what the field has to offer.
