NEW ORLEANS – Shake Shack restaurant announced that its second New Orleans area location will open on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the corner of Canal and North Peters streets (inside Canal Place, 333 Canal Street). This will be the flagship for the New Orleans area.
In a press release, Shake Shack said it is a “critically acclaimed, modern day ‘roadside’ burger stand known for its 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers, chicken sandwiches and griddled flat-top dogs, fresh-made frozen custard, crispy crinkle-cut fries, craft beer, wine and more.”
The 3,411-square-foot Shack will have ample seating for guests. In keeping with Shake Shack’s commitment to green architecture and eco-friendly construction, the Canal Place Shack will be constructed with recycled and sustainable materials. Booths will be made from lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, and table tops will be made from reclaimed bowling alley lanes.
The first 100 people in line when doors open at 11 a.m. on Dec. 3 will receive a custom Shake Shack tote filled with swag. Festivities will begin at 10:30 a.m. with brass band and a second-line parade before doors open to the public at 11 a.m.
Meanwhile, at Shake Shack’s Metairie location, chefs will be spinning up a unique selection of frozen custard concretes in partnership with local purveyor Haydel’s Bakery and Chef Kelly Field’s Willa Jean. These include:
● Missi-chip-pi Fudge: Vanilla custard, fudge sauce, Willa Jean chocolate chip cookies
● Shacky Road: Chocolate custard, marshmallow sauce, chopped almonds and chocolate truffle cookie dough
● Pie Oh My – Vanilla custard blended with piece of Haydel’s Bakery seasonal pie
Guests can wash their burgers down with local brews from Abita Brewery, Nola Brewing Company, Dixie Beer and Second Line Brewing plus Shake Shack’s exclusive Brooklyn Brewery ShackMeister Ale. Wine lovers can enjoy a glass of Shack RedTM and Shack WhiteTM wine from the Gotham Project.
