Shadavalyn Hackney Named Louisiana SBDC Financial Director

UrlMONROE, LA – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center announced that Shadavalyn Hackney is its new financial director. Hackney began her role on March 23, 2020.

Hackney’s experience includes working with federal grants, grant review and reporting, internal controls, and purchase requisition, as she formerly worked as the Coordinator of Budgets at Grambling State University.

Louisiana Small Business Development Center State Director Carla Holland said Shadavalyn’s experience with College’s financial systems and grant management makes her the perfect addition for our management team.

“Her experience with institutions of higher education and federal grants make her standout,” Hackney said. “Additionally, she brings a fresh perspective to our leadership team and is passionate about supporting small businesses in Louisiana.”

As Financial Director of the Louisiana Small Business Development Center, Hackney will develop and expand working relationships with public and private entities; ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and host institution rules governing the program; prepare budget and expense reports; manage contracts, budgets and expenditures for all LSBDC office locations; and supervise the Grants Accountant.

Hackney said, joining Louisiana Small Business Development Center has been a “dream accomplishment for me.”
