The Senior Voters Caucus is a forum for candidates to discuss their political platform, and any policies and proposals that may impact the social or economic conditions of senior citizens. Additionally, older adults will have the opportunity to engage with political candidates.

The committee chair, Howard Rodgers, said “This is the best way for senior citizens, who are avid voters, to get up close and personal with Orleans Parish, political office seekers. We must ensure that older adults are included on the political platform for the City of New Orleans.”

The Orleans Parish Senior Voters Caucus has been convening annual meetings since its inception in 1972 to discuss local political issues, the election process, and engage with political candidates. They currently have a membership of more than 500 seniors throughout metropolitan New Orleans.
